Short vowel sounds tend to be tricky for beginning or struggling readers. But they must be mastered before moving on to more difficult concepts because they help lay the foundation for so many words in our language.
To help your child learn and remember these tricky sounds, it can be helpful to use hand motions to trigger their memory. In this video, I show you a motion to use with each vowel sound and how to teach it to your child.
