Terms and Conditions:
Upon paying for tutoring services, you signify your agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read these Terms carefully.
Fee agreement:
The fee is agreed upon during the initial consultation and confirmed via email. Instructions for payment are located on your invoice.
Terms of payment:
You can pay at the beginning of the month for a select amount of sessions, bi-weekly, or weekly.
All compensation is paid BEFORE sessions.
If we need to reschedule a session and you have already paid, you will be given a credit for the following week.
You have the option to do automatic payments or pay once you receive the invoice.
Instructions for payment are located on your invoice. Payment is accepted through Stripe.
Location of lessons: online
Obligations of the tutor:
I will deliver lessons and assessments with fidelity using an Orton Gillingham Approach. I will undertake all preparation prior to lessons and to structure them in such a way as to optimize time to the benefit of your child.
I will assess your child during the first and last lesson of this contract. These sessions are considered payable lessons.
I will keep all of your child’s information confidential.
I will provide you with brief progress updates bi-weekly via email and keep accurate data reflecting progress. (Additional requested reports are available and will be billed at the hourly rate.)
Cancellation of lessons by the parent/guardian:
If a lesson is canceled by the parent with less than 24 hours’ notice, the parent will still pay agreed-upon fees (full session price) for the canceled lesson. Cancellation must be made via text and confirmed by the tutor. On occasion, the tutor may waive the 24-hour cancellation policy or change it. This will be done at the tutor’s discretion on a case-by-case basis. The tutor must be notified two weeks in advance, in writing, with regard to any vacation time that will cause a student to miss at least three sessions.
Cancellation by the tutor:
If the tutor needs to cancel a lesson, they will provide as much notice as possible. Every effort will be made to reschedule the lesson. Failing that, the associated invoice will be amended.
Technological Troubleshooting:
If we spend 15 minutes troubleshooting with any piece of technology, the lesson will be discontinued, and the lesson will be rescheduled to meet both parties’ needs.
Late Arrival:
If the student is more than 15 minutes late, the tutor has the right to abandon the lesson. Payment is still required if the student is more than 15 minutes late.
If the tutor is late, every effort will be made to make up for the lost time. Failing that, the associated invoice will be amended.
Termination:
This tutoring contract may be terminated by either party at any time by giving the other party 14 days prior written notice.
Disclaimer:
Sarah Bobal reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Every effort will be made to notify you of changes, but you are encouraged to check these terms if you are in any doubt.
